Edict 26: Garbagemen sit in their trucks but their pay is sometimes equal to teachers

Garbagemen sit in their trucks all day long and, nationwide, their salary accounts for an equal share when compared to teachers nationwide.  I propose that teachers be paid twice as much as garbagemen if they are willing to engage in what they define as "extracurricular activities" (at all age groups) with their students.  Do you agree with my argument Mark?

(I'm typing these word for word as I wrote them down.  I guess I was arguing that teaching should be an expanded upon profession towards almost becoming a sort of mentoring type of status with a heavy involvement in the life of students.)
