If A Tree Falls In The Forest And No One Is There to Hear It Then Does It Makes A Sound?

I was wandering through the woods and thought of the phrase "If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it then does it make a sound?"

It's described as coming from The Chautauquan magazine in the year 1883 where they said "If a tree were to fall on an island where there were no human beings would there be any sound?"

Let's go find um! (the people who are alone either in the "woods" or on "islands")  I'm paraphrasing, "We are not alone!"
