A Proverb
I made up the proverb 'Not all that glitters is gold'. Apparently though, William Shakespeare said it first like this: All that glitters is not gold. It originated around the 12th century and might even go as far back as Aesop. A very interesting French monk Alain de Lille stated "Do not hold everything gold that shines like gold" in 1175.
