Either We Go By Man's Laws Or God's Laws

When we are in a courtroom, we are made to put our hands on the Bible and ‘swear an oath’.  Since the law of the land is that there is a ‘separation of church and state’.  Then how can this be?  It is either we go by the laws of man or we go by the laws of God.  How long will we teeter between them both without choosing?
