A Christian Legend By Michael Haimes

A Christian Legend By Michael Haimes

*inspiration for this might have come from previously mentioned yet undefined sources that aren't this blog.*

*I picked the 2 disciples names at random through using Google Gemini so the accuracy of the following story and how precisely created this parable.*

James:  I've thought of an amazing Idea.

Judas (The betrayer): huh?

James:  We've been told by our rabbi that we are to become fishers of men.  Tell me if this idea works.  We could draw this shape in the sand.

*James draws the shape of a crescent that can be made when one holds their hand up, faces it downwards, and then turns it towards themselves.  He drew that crescent in the sand.*

Judas: Go on...*he makes this statement with a quizzical expression thus indicating that he had great interest possible due to respect for James at the time.*

*James completes what would otherwise be described as an unfilled moon sort of facing upside down by drawing the other side thus making a fish type of shape in the sand.*

James: We could use this to spread our word amongst disciples in very private.

Judas: That's a stupendous idea!

ܗܳܢܳܐ ܗܽܘ ܚܶܫܒܳܐ ܡܰܕ݂ܗܰܡ

(hā-nâ hu ḥesh-bâ maḏ-ha-m)

Let's break down the Aramaic:

ܗܳܢܳܐ (hā-nâ): This means "this" or "that."

ܗܽܘ (hu): This is the masculine singular pronoun "he" or "it," often used as a copula (linking verb) like "is." So "hā-nâ hu" can be understood as "this is" or "that is."

ܚܶܫܒܳܐ (ḥesh-bâ): This word generally means "thought," "plan," "reckoning," or "idea." In this context, it fits well for "idea."

ܡܰܕ݂ܗܰܡ (maḏ-ha-m): This is an adjective that carries the sense of "astonishing," "amazing," "wonderful," or "impressive." It captures the intensity of "stupendous."
