Dangerous To Erect Statues This Day And Age

Should there have been a statue made before I was known about and that statue was created in celebration of a man thus that the display is done for historical sake, then I'm not against them being destroyed.  For all others that are erected in a "I am God." like manner, then I stand firm on the ability of anyone to just use a blow torch and melt them to nothing.
