Financial Transactions On The Sabbath

Some amongst my kin are known to have stated that financial transactions should not be done on the sabbath.  I have something I'd like to say on the matter.  Imagine playing a video game on the sabbath and your about to make an investment in your character for an upgrade.  Would you consider that to be making a financial purchase on the sabbath?  I would say that financial transactions geared towards what is good, what is loved, and what is enjoyed isn't something that the Jewish people, including myself, should fear so much that they are completely banned entirely on the sabbath day.
