I Thought Up Another Thing For The War On Mammon

My dad worked often and was the bread winner of the house.  He brings the goods so there can be a tendency towards implied status.  My mom wasn't the bread winner.

Why should one person in a family have unlimited status over the others in their family just because they are the breadwinners?
